Why
did you start blogging?
I
didn’t start blogging with any kind of goal or anything, to be honest. It was just something I decided to do on a
lonely Saturday afternoon. But now that
I’ve been blogging for a few months, I’ve started to shape my mission
statement, I guess you could say. I want
to inspire young girls to just be confident in what they wear and every other
aspect of their lives and that’s what I've been trying to do.
- 2.
The
name of your blog is “Coco and Picasso.”
Why did you decide to give this name to your blog?
I
named my blog “Coco and Picasso” because my two main passions are fashion and
art. “Coco” represents one of my
favourite fashion designers of all time, Coco Chanel and “Picasso” represents
one of my favourite artists. I also
loved how both of those people have very distinct styles and I wanted my blog
to be the same.
- 3.
Did
you have any other names for the blog before deciding the actual?
Surprisingly
enough, I actually didn't have any other names before I decided on “Coco and
Picasso.” I’m sure that I played around
with a few other names and bits and pieces in my head, but I can’t seem to
remember any of them.
- 4.
What
is your daily inspiration?
I
can pretty much find inspiration in everything.
I could be walking down the street and something might just randomly
catch my eye and I get an idea for a blog post or a design. It’s one of the many, many things that make
life so exciting for me.
- 5.
As
a teenager you have to attend school. Is
this an obstacle to you to stay connected with your blog?
It
definitely is a challenge to keep up with my blog, especially because blogging
is so much more than just writing something and hitting the “publish”
button. That means that I have to juggle
all the things that I have to do with my blog, school work, and everything that
goes on in my personal life. I would be
lying if I said it was easy (so I won’t), but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
- 6.
What
is the most difficult part of blogging?
For
me, the most difficult part of blogging is coming up with ideas for posts that
will keep people interested. Since I do
post every day, it sometimes gets hard to always be coming up with new ideas
all the time.
- 7.
If
you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
That’s
a really hard question to answer because I have so many people that I would
just die (not literally, but you know what I mean) to have dinner with. But in terms of role models, I would love to
have dinner with Taylor Swift. I just
think that she’s such an amazing person and it’s really amazing to me how she
had a dream when she was so young and worked so hard to reach it and is now so
successful.
- 8.
Which
is your favorite quote?
My
all time favourite quote is “Everything happens for a reason.” Whenever I’m going through a tough time, I
always think back to this quote to kind of pick myself up again.
- 9.
Can’t
live without… (5 things)
I’m
going to assume that the necessities like water, air, food, and all that is
covered. So aside from the basics, I
wouldn’t be able to live without my friends and family, my laptop, cellphone, a
notebook or sketchbook (or just paper in general), and a pencil.
I
really love reading “IFB” because they give such amazing and useful tips and I
never get tired of reading that blog. I
also love “A Beautyfull Word.” I’m
obsessed with her writing style and her posts just get better and better. I have a ton of other favourites, but the
last one I’d like to mention is “Fashion Girl” (FashionGirl134). It’s written by a girl named Charlotte who’s
pretty much an older, cooler, British version of me, or at least what I’m
aiming towards.
My
style icons are Elle Fanning and Taylor Swift.
I love how Elle is so young but isn’t afraid to wear something different
and crazy and she always makes it look so good.
I know that a lot of people think that Taylor Swift’s style is really
safe and boring, but I love how classic and feminine it is and it influences
what I wear all the time.
- 12. Your first fashion memory…
I’m
sure there must have been something before this, but I remember playing with my
Barbie dolls when I was pretty young, maybe about five, or six. I loved dressing them up and have them
exchange outfits with different dolls.
Later on down the line when I was in second or third grade, I was
obsessed with Stardoll.com. I loved
dressing up celebrities and I was on that website pretty much 24/7.
- 13. Which are your favorite trends for the seasons
and which are the ones you hate?
I’ve
been really into the whole crop top trend that has been going around for a
while now, but I probably would never be allowed to wear one, haha. At one point, I thought that wedge sneakers
were absolutely horrendous, but I’ve really grown to like them, so that’s
another favourite of mine. I don’t think
there are any trends that I necessarily hate, to be honest with you, so nothing
there.
- 14. If you could give an advice to a bunch of
people, what would it be?
If
I could give a bunch of people some advice (I’ll try to keep this short, I promise),
it would be to work hard towards your goals and work to your best
abilities. If you’re going through a
tough time, as cheesy and lame as it sounds, it will get better. And finally, don’t try to grow up too fast.
- 15. The name of the interview is “Dancing with
Juliana.” Which song makes you want to
stand up and dance?
Right
now, I have a few songs that make me just want to get up and dance. I have a few Taylor Swift songs, surprise
surprise. “Holy Ground,” “We Are Never
Ever Getting Back Together,” and “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore.
- 16. Right now, what is your goal for “Coco and
Picasso” and do you have any projects in mind?
Right
now, my goal for “Coco and Picasso” is to incorporate more art into my
blog. I originally started “Coco and
Picasso” with the intention of writing about fashion and art, so I’m trying to
find a way to delve a bit further in the art side of things.
*Now you know if you are looking for a place where fashion and art are consolidated "Coco and Picasso" is the right place to check.
