Megan is a girl who loves music and fashion. That, can be reflected in her blog "Tunes & Tunics". An amazing source to get inspiration for both things. Her style is always changing, she gets inpiration from weather, social media etc.
To know more about Megan continue reading the next interview where she talks about why she decided to start her blog....
· Why
and when did you start blogging?
o I
started blogging the summer after my first business of fashion camp:
FashionCampNYC. Two of the girls that gave a lecture were Abigail and Emily of
lovelywanderlust.com and I thought the whole blog thing was cool.
The
name of your blog is “Tunes and Tunics”, why did you choose that name?
o
I
knew that I didn’t only want to talk about fashion on my blog, because music is
also a huge part of my life. Tunes And Tunics came to me
when I was walking home from Pilates class and I immediately wrote it down. It
has just stuck since then!
·
Did
you have any other names before deciding the actual name?
o
I
went through a phase where I wanted to do something with “fashionista” and “15”
because I was 15, but that never really worked out.
·
Can
you describe your style in four words?
o
Changing,
classic, risky, printed
Do
you think where you live has influenced your style?
o
I
think definitely living in the New York Metropolitan has influenced my style.
The laid back yet fashion forward vibe of New York City is present in my style!
· What
is your daily inspiration?
o
Social
media is definitely something that inspires me. Checking up on my favorite
bloggers on Instagram and seeing where my favorite artists are in the world and
what they are up to on twitter always gives me inspiration. Also, weather is a
huge part of my inspiration. If it’s warm outside and the flowers are blooming,
I’ll reach for a floral print or something flowy and springy.
·
For
you what’s the most difficult part about blogging?
o
This
year, the most difficult part has been finding time. Keeping up a blog is a
job. You need to take photos, write content, check over the content, make sure
the content is interesting, edit the photos, upload it, do all the social media
stuff… the list goes on. But my blog is something I love doing so I always find
the time, no matter how little time I can
find.
·
If
you could have dinner with anyone; who would be? (dead, or alive, fiction or nonfiction)
o
Honestly,
One Direction. These 5 normal “lads” have come from such humble beginnings and
are now world known pop stars. I want to have a laid back conversation with
them about what the whole experience has been like: the good, the bad, and the
ugly.
·
Which
is your favorite quote?
o
Although
it is more of a motto, “The Other Fellow First” is something that has stuck
with me. I can turn to it in any situation.
·
Can’t
live without…………(5 things)
o
A
flannel, spandex shorts, music, my family and books.
·
Your
favorite blogs……….
o
Danielle
Bernstein of WeWoreWhat.com , Isabella of ViewOfNow.com , Natalie of
NatalieOffDuty.com and Shanni of ShanniSideUp.blogspot.com
·
Your
style icons……………
o
Cara
Delevingne was probably my first style icon when I started blogging. Her
effortless mix of tomboyish and printed clothes, mixed with off-the-runway
makeup and hair, is something I can only dream about mastering. I also love
Emma Watson, Little Mix and Lily Collins.
·
Your
first fashion memory…….
o
I
will always remember my first picture day in Kindergarten. I knew exactly what
I wanted to wear: a floral dress, button down in the front, with white shoes
and two braids, with bows, in the front of my head.
·
Your
favorite designer or brand…………
o
Zuhair
Murad is definitely my favorite haute couture designer. I also love the practicality
of Jill Stuart’s designs.
·
Favorite
city in the world…….
o
Definitely
London. I've only been once but I can definitely see myself living there in the
future.
·
Which
are your favorite trends for this season, and which are the ones you hate?
o
My
favorite trends this season are definitely athletic wear, festival free-spirit
and bohemian prints, and big floppy hats. I absolutely hate Birkenstocks and
anything close to them… I’ve never really been a fan either.
·
If
you could give an advice to a bunch of people what it would be?
o
Do
what you love, even if you don’t think you can. I never imagined I would have a
blog recognized by Teen Vogue or have a real following of people who are
inspired by me… the impossible is
impossible.
·
The
name of the interview is “Dancing with Megan”, what song makes you want to
stand up and dance?
o
As a
music blogger, I am constantly discovering new music and playing songs until I
am sick of them. My current favorite dance jams are “Classic” by MKTO and “La
Da Dee” by Cody Simpson.
·
Do
you want to pursue a career in the fashion industry in the future?
o
My
absolute dream is to work on the business side of the fashion industry. Whether
for a magazine or for a company, the business of fashion is where I imagine
myself in the future.
·
Right
now what is your goal for “Tunes and Tunics”, and do you have any projects in
mind?
- My current goal is
grow my youtube channel. Right now I only have a few videos, but I really enjoy
making them and sharing them with everyone! Youtube is a growing fashion and
music “cult”, per say, and I really want to be a part
